About

I set up Triumph B2B to give growing B2B businesses access to experienced marketing leadership and a proper marketing team without having to hire all of it permanently.

I'm Michael Baker-Mosley, founder of Triumph B2B. I've spent fifteen years in B2B marketing across technology, SaaS, manufacturing and regulated markets, most recently as Group CMO of an international B2B platform group.

Before that I led brand marketing at a global B2B technology platform, including its entry into the US. Earlier in my career I worked in agencies across complex B2B sectors.

How I work

Sometimes the answer is stronger leadership for the team. Sometimes the positioning is wrong, the company is trying to do too much, or sales and marketing are working to different priorities. In other cases the strategy is fine and the business simply does not have enough people or capability to deliver it.

I am comfortable working with a board or leadership team, but I am equally happy getting into HubSpot, reviewing pipeline, working through a campaign or helping the team solve a practical problem. I have always found that the best marketing strategies are the ones that can actually be used by the people doing the work.

International growth

A large part of my career has involved helping B2B businesses grow internationally.

I have led market entry into the US and built marketing programmes across Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. That experience now sits behind much of the work Triumph B2B does with companies looking for their next stage of growth.

Building the function

I have led teams across brand, demand generation, product marketing, field marketing, content and digital, and have worked closely with sales teams, CEOs and boards throughout.

I have also implemented CRM and marketing automation, built reporting and attribution, introduced AI into marketing operations and managed agencies and specialist partners.

That is broadly how I work now: understand what the business needs from marketing, make sure the plan is commercially sensible, and then put the people and systems around it to deliver.
